    you do not need to downgrade it to 1.50 you can downgrade it to new cfw 5.00m33-3 if you now someone who has psp fat and already downgraded psp, then you need to make magic stick and pandora battery. if you have psp3000 it is not possible to downgrade it for now.

  8. no, you can’t downgrade your slim without pandora battery and magic stick….well maybe you can but you need to make hard mode on your slim battery — it means that you need to open your slim battery and cut one leg of “processor” to make it work like panodra battery but i wouldn’t recomend that.

  10. iso is not working now becouse you have updated your psp to official sony firmware – OFW -, in order to play again your iso games you need to downgrade your psp to custom firmware – CFW -.

  11. Hi, I have a friend who has the PSP 1001 and just recently upgraded to the 5.02 OFW. I read the guide on making a magic stick and pandora but Im still confused on how that works. The guide tells you that you need to know someone who has a cfw already installed but nowhere does it say anything about what to do about that psp. I can easily follow the magic stick and pandora guide but what do i have to do using my friend’s psp that has a cfw? Is there another guide for that?

  12. in order to make pandora battery and magic stick you need to have already downgraded psp, psp with cfw. when you make pandora battery and magic stick then you put on your friend’s psp first magic stick then pandora battery that you have made on other psp that is downgraded. so, psp that has cfw is important in making magic stick and pandora battery that you use on psp that needs to be downgraded.

    I have recently bought a second hand psp.
    set it up on my routier, its now has 502
    official sony firmware, is it possable to
    change firmware to custom firmware to run
    games via mem card?

    from what i know the psp is stock
    5.02 sony OS
    sony 3.6v 1800mAh psp bat pack, (dont think its slim psp)
    512mb mem card

    think that previous answers should help you answer your question.
    in order to play iso games and to downgrade your psp to cfw you need to have one more psp that is already downgraded so that you can make pandora battery and magic stick with that downgraded psp. when you do that then you put first memory stick to your psp and then pandora battery. Placing those two things to your psp you will be able to downgrade your psp to cfw.

    yes you need to downgrade psp, you can make pandora battery from your original psp battery but I am not recomending that becouse you need to open the battery

    read this:

    here is the answer…

    …when you do that then you put first memory stick to your psp and then pandora battery. Placing those two things to your psp you will be able to downgrade your psp to cfw.

    when placing pandora battery and magic stick in psp simple menu for downgrade will show, all you need to do then is to choose what you want to do – example: do you want to INSTALL CFW or INSTALL OFW or work with NAND OPERATION etc.

    that is strange to me a bit, i never heard about firmware 4.99.

    ofw are 4.01,4.05,5.00,5.02 – let’s say these are “new” ones, but 4.99?? never heard about that so please check that out.

    yes, it is true that new psp 3000 has new motherboard and for now still doesn’t support pandora battery.

    really doesn’t matter to what cfw should you downgrade, when you downgrade to any cfw you can upgrade to 5.00m33 – that is the newest cfw.
    soon should come out version 5.00m33-4.

    but you can downgrade to lets say cfw 3.80m33 then you can go online with psp and automaticly upgrade to newest cfw.

  51. I have two psp slims,a blue and black one. I wanna use cfw but don’t know how to install. I’ve tried everything! I have pandora and as for the memory stick I have no clue wat yu suppose to do with that. I tried all these different mms things but all seem to be corrupt. Any suggestions on a good mms thing?     in order to downgrade psp you need one psp that is already downgraded, but as you already have pandora all you need is magic stick….the only way to make one is again having one downgraded psp so that you can begin the process of making magic stick.

  54. hi i initially had firmware 3.80 om sony psp slim 2004….i accidentally upgraded it to 5.02….initially i was able to play iso games in it…yes it showed a menu on pressing ‘select button’…but after i installed sony official firmware 5.02 i lost the iso folder ..i no longer can play games…see my psp shows “magic gate supported “…so what all should i need toput cfw 3.00m33 on it…help me pleaaseeeeeeeeeee

    not necessary???? that is so funny, who told you that…. sorry but that is not true, that is the only way in order to downgrade psp, pandora battery can be made by software modification or by hard mode making – it means that you need to open your battery and fifth pin of “processor” needs to be cut- but as i said i really don’t recomend that to anyone, only if you have electronic skills to make battery work again as normal battery. there is no other way to do downgrade.

  61. I have a phat PSP on 5.02 OFW and i need custom firmware. Is there any other way than making a Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick of downgrading because im scared i mess it up.

    Should I just wait until the next custom firmware to come out and upgrade from there or do i need custom firmware to update to the next version?

  62. no, it doesn’t need to be 1.5firmware, it needs to run custom firmware anykind. well yes, when you cut that pin you can use that battery only as pandora battery and not like normal one. only if you know how to put it back together like it was – that pin before cutting- then it can again be a noramal psp battery – that is why no one recomends that but some people use that method. it is up to you now.

    in order to put new cfw you already need to have cfw on your psp….as you said that your psp is running 5.02ofw that means that you can’t, actually you can wait for new cfw to come,but you can’t install it on your psp becouse of the ofw. making of pandora is possible on 2 ways – hard mode / you need to open your original battery and cut 5th pin – don’t recomend that/ and the other way is sofware modification – MANY PEOPLE RECOMEND THAT WAY – well you can’t mess up a lot today so just you need to find some good tutorial how to do that and follow guidelines.

    butt i just read another article on this website that says PSP Slim & Lite motherboard TA-088 v3 can not be downgrade, that Pandora wont work on it….i am wondering if there is a way i can check to make sure my psp doesn’t have this motherboard…

  74. psp from your friend should be running at least some of the m33 versions of cfw … lets say from 3.71m33 to 5.00m33, but i think that it can run even lower cfw’s. yes, once you make pandora and m.stick on his psp you use these two on your psp.

    no there is no way to check it out if you have mobo ta-088 v3 becouse you r not running cfw on psp. when you will be running cfw then you can find pspident software and then you can check out which mobo you have on psp.

    in order to downgrade psp you need also magic stick. you can find on downgrade psp page guide for making one with pandora deluxe 2.8 software. or you can just format psp on pc then download despertar cementario v7 form this page and follow the instructions in readme file.

    the newest cfw is 5.00m33-4 – you can find it on site – so you first downgrade and then upgrade to that cfw. 5.00m33-4 is out for a few days only.

    if you make magic stick from your 8gb stick after downgrading psp you can simply format that stick within psp and your stick then can load iso games….iso folder after formating will be created and you put iso games in that folder. in order to make magic stick please find despertar cementario v7 on this page or pandora deluxe 2.8 and follow their instructions on making magic stick.

    but if the motherboard is not compatible with pandora, then i may brick my psp in the process of downgrading and then i cant use pandora to unbrick it cuz pandora is not compatible with that mobo…. so im kinda hesitant to try to downgrade…

    then don’t downgrade your psp, wait a bit more to see wheater ta 088 v3 will be downgradeable with pandora…..but i think if you have bought your psp lets say till Septermber 08 then it is possible that you do not have that mobo in your psp… it is up to you wheater you will try to downgrade or not.

    i got a 1gb sony memstick PRO Duo magic gate
    and now i know bout that pandora batt. i hardmodded the damn thing (little sparks came out so i’m currently waiting for a new one) cause im like out in the woods and noboy got a psp round here.
    i think i found a good program to magicstick my memstick.

    now: how do i downgrade and to what cfw? is the downgrading the final step to at long last play games off my memstick?

    ok so in order to downgrade as you already know you need to make magic stick and pandora battery. when you do that then you first put magic stick in your psp and then pandora battery, and then you just follow instructions that are on your psp screen. it doesn’t matter to what cfw you downgrade but it would be good that you downgrade to at least 3.80m33 becouse then you can connect your psp through wifi – if you have it – to go online and upgrade your psp software version to the new one 5.00m33-4.

  88. well…actually i really don’t remember …. but i think that you actually can make magic stick through pc with command prompt but you do need downgraded psp for making pandora battery or you think of doing a hard mode on battery again 🙂 . i will let you know as soon as i find my old tutorials that i made for one croatian message board. it has been long time since i’ve been doin magic s. and pandora in that way.

    So is it impossible to just download the files you said onto the memory stick in order to make it ‘magic’ without the need of a second psp with cfw. I don’t understand why you need the second one if it is possible to make an mms by just downloading some software?
    I ordered a pandora battery, and I have an extra stick (not magic yet) should that do the trick?

    first i wanna thank you for registrating on my message board i saw you while ago online. for making magic stick you have tutorial on how to make one without psp, you only use command prompt, sorry i don’t have video tutorial on making magic stick and panodra i had it but i erased it. sorry. but tutorial that is on the gamers4world site i think that is very good explained and you shouldn’t have any complications when making magic stick…. ofcourse if you have ordered form somewhere pandora battery. i can try to do some tutorial on making magic stick if that would help you but it will be the same as the one on gamers4world. if you have some questions feel free when you start doing magic stick to post in help category on the message board. thx

  106. I upgraded to 5.02 not knowing it would turn my PSP into a brick. Then I researched and found out that I need a magic memory stick and a pandora battery. I looked at youtube tutorials and opened the battery and cut the right spot. Then I created an MMS [I think (in my games section there is a pandora’s icon and a despertar cementerio icon). Am I on the right track? I put the MMS in and then the modified battery (Pandora?) but it keeps bringing up the “Sony Computer Entertainment Screen” not the instruction screen. Where did I go wrong? What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

    well you r on the right track…but just becouse you have pandora’s icon and dc icon on ms doesn’t mean you have made magic stick. did you run despertar cementario icon? i don’t have much experiance on hard mode work of panodra battery so i can’t help you in that section much.

    🙂 ok first what is your problem downgrading or loading iso’s? 🙂 if it is downgrading then first put magic stick then pandora battery and follow screen instructions to downgrade psp. then when you downgrade your psp turn on psp and use “select” button, vsh menu should pop up on the screen, cpu clock game should be more then 222/111 and umd iso mode should be on m33 driver or sony np9660

  131. oh btw one more question.. i dont kno if you kno anythin about this but.. its about ATRAC3.. do you hav any idea i can convet .mp3 files to .at3? i tried using SOny Sound Forge to convert it to WAV using custom ATRAC3 settings but when i replace the song in my ISO nothin happens.. in fact.. the whole ISO has no BGM at all but there is sound when u move up and down..

    no, there will not be any downgrade icon, please try to find clip when i downgrade my psp to 4.01 so you will see the process of doing downgrade, it isn’t good picture but i am sure you will know what you need to do. when you get panodra battery , first put magic stick then pandora baterry and then automaticly screen will ask you if you want to install cfw you press X and then will process of downgrading start. when downgrading is finished you need to turn on your psp and click “select” button, so called vsh menu should be on your screen. cpu clock game should be at least at 222/111 and umd iso mode should be at m33 driver. that is very important to do. and you r done, format your memory stick that you will use for games, iso games you put in iso folder on memory stick.

    well if person wants to crack battery then you haven’t found pandora battery, you have found original battery that needs to be cracked….or maybe it is cracked and person wants to take more money from you to lets say “crack” it again – by that i mean that he won’t do anything becouse he already has pandora battery. fusa software you can find on this site try to look for it there should also be a readme inside the zip folder so you read readme and you will see how to install it. new cfw is 5.00m33-4 and you can find it also on this site like fusa. ohh and yes once you have pandora you can regularly update cfw. pandora battery you only need for downgrade psp to cfw once you do that you won’t need it again hopefully, so once you have cfw you can reguraly update to new cfw.

    Recently i just bought a new psp2000 come with version 4.05,but then i accidently updated the system software to version 5.02.

    After i went thru your page i understand that i must have a pendora battery and also a downgraded mms psp, to make me revert the system operation become 3.80 so i can play the iso game.
    But my problem is i already brought my psp to game shop and they try to downgrade it, which i believe by changed the mms and also the pendora battery as i saw them doing it. That is exactly as what you recomended.
    But it was unsuccesful and i was informed by the shopper that psp slim version has a 2 version, the old version we can modify them and the another version we can`t modify, and my one is maybe the 2nd version which i can`t downgraded it same with the psp3000. Im wondering if that true because afterall i went thru all your responses i didn`t found that the psp slim n lite version can`t downgraded?

    or mayb there is another ways? and another one is that possible to use my frend psp`s memory card as a mms since he had the phat one but not downgraded?

    yes it is true, some psp 2000 versions can’t be downgraded…these psp’s have new motherboard so called ta088v3…well acutally it can be downgraded but there is still no software that we can use in order to downgrade it, we are waiting DA to come up with new DC or some patch that so that we can downgrade these psp’s.

    can we detect it by looking at the serial number? or any other ways because im planning to buy a new one?
    But If im buying from online how can i detect It? because not every online sellers can be trusted nowdays.
    Now i have to be more careful when buying the slim version.
    In my country Malaysia the price of PSP slim version going up like crazy from RM700++ to RM900++ after the launch of PSP3000,this is because psp3000 can`t be downgraded.

    i own both sites this and message board..it doesn’t have responses becouse only yesterdey had flayingapples posted, everyone else is still posting here their questions. once you downgrade your psp you don’t need anything from pandora deluxe. there is no software which can prevent the psp form installing ofw. details on those 18 tools you can find only by google maybe some of those tools are explained on my paige,really don’t know which all 18 tools are we talking about, but i am sure you won’t need all 18 of them 🙂 or maybe i am wrong. well abt popsloader you can install it, but maybe you even won’t need it. when you see that you can’t play some psx game then install it.

  168. so I have costumefirmware 3.71 m33 and I downloaded CSO format game and put it inside the ISO folder on the root of the memory stick. than I went to the game in psp. The game is there but when I tried to play it my psp telles the game could not be started. Help me pspdowngmaster. the boss help me

    i’ve got a 5.02 OFW, i updated it using wireless though..
    anyways, this freaking firmware cant let me play iso/cso files.. T__T
    i’ve tried lots of stuffs on downgrading this freaking firmware, but none of them suceeded.. i guess..
    i need help with pandora battery, i have SLIM battery, i’ve watch several videos on youtube on how to create pandora battery using SLIM, well, i dont care if the battery cant get back to normal, as long as my PSP goes back to CFW, i’ll be ok..

    1st i’ve scratch the board as said in the tutorial, nothing happened..
    2nd i overdo the scratch thingy, nothing happened..
    3rd, i again scratch with all my might (i dont care if it broke), nothing happened.. take note that the battery is still fine..
    4th i cut the 5th pin indicated on the tutorial that if that pin is cutted, it will not work as normal battery anymore.. but, nothing happened, my battery is still doing fine..
    5th, i cut the pin where in u nid some scratching, i guess it’s called 4th pin, some tutorial made me to do this, so? try and try until my battery broke, i tried it, and guess what? nothing happened..

    im losing hope, help master! there’s no way i can buy pandora battery, i’ve search everywhere..

    is it just my battery? or that OFW 5.02 is unhackable? i got Model PSP-S110 as my battery (SLIM)

    please help me im stuck.i have a psp 3001 with ofw 5.02 wat can i do wit it. and i tried ti upgrade it to 5.02 gen-a its say game couldnt be started i to have the full version of 5.02 gen- a but i think you need a pandora battery or a magic memery stick. is there a another way cuz i want to play iso games on my psp 3001
